Withdrawal Policy

WITHDRAWAL
General Policy
Withdrawals are not granted for students who have not made progress in their online course.
Medical Withdrawals
If a medical withdrawal is necessary, the parent or guardian must contact the A2 Virtual+ Principal directly to initiate the request.
To be considered, a medical withdrawal must meet the following requirements:
-
The request should apply to multiple classes, not just the online course (e.g., both in-school and online classes).
-
A physician's letter must be submitted, including:
-
Diagnosis
-
Dates of treatment
-
A clear statement that withdrawal from the online course is medically necessary
-
-
A completed A2 Virtual+ Withdrawal Form must be submitted along with the physician’s letter.
-
All documentation must be submitted to the A2 Virtual+ office before the last three weeks of the term.
Withdrawals requested during the last three weeks of the term will be considered only in the case of recent extenuating circumstances.
Future Enrollment After Withdrawal
-
Students who are granted a medical withdrawal may be denied future enrollment in online courses until a physician provides written confirmation that the student is medically ready to return to online learning.
-
If a student wishes to re-enroll in an A2 Virtual+ course after a withdrawal, the parent/guardian and attending physician may submit a request for consideration to the A2 Virtual+ Principal.
-
If a withdrawal (for any reason) is approved, the student must take a 12-month break from the A2 Virtual+ online learning environment. The student may return 12 calendar months after the end of the term in which the withdrawal occurred.
-
If early re-enrollment is being requested (before the 12 months are complete), the parent/guardian must schedule a meeting with the A2 Virtual+ Principal for review and consideration.
Important Exception:
Withdrawing from an online course taken during the summer term does not impact a student’s ability to enroll in online courses during the regular school year.
