Proctoring Requirements
Proctoring Requirement for Earning Credit in Online Classes
To receive credit for an A2 Virtual+ course, students must complete all required proctored assessments. This page explains what that means and how to meet the requirement.
Students who do not complete all required proctored assessments will not receive credit for the class, even if other coursework is completed.
What is proctoring?
In A2 Virtual+ classes, some tests must be taken in person under the supervision of an A2 Virtual+ staff member or an approved remote proctor. This process is called proctoring and is required to verify that the test reflects a student's accurate and genuine understanding of the skills and content of the class.
Proctored assessments are a required part of online classes and are built into the grading and credit policies for A2 Virtual+.
Proctoring requirements for credit
- At least two assessments must be proctored for each A2 Virtual+ class during the term.
- Your teacher or mentor will decide which unit tests or assessments are proctored.
- Any AAPS course that requires a common assessment will also have that exam proctored.
- District-required pre- and post-tests must be proctored.
- At least one proctored test must be completed by the midpoint of the course.
- Completing testing during proctoring sessions is a required part of each online class.
Standard in-person options
- Attend the weekly proctoring session offered at Skyline High School.
- Arrange a time to test at your school of residency by contacting your building liaison.
Remote proctoring (by approval)
Students who are unable to attend a proctoring session at an AAPS building must go through the remote proctor approval process with A2 Virtual+ administration. If approved:
- The test is still taken in person at the remote proctoring location.
- The assessment must be completed under the supervision of the approved proctor.
Details about arranging a remote proctor are available on the Proctoring Information page (see link below).
What students should expect at proctoring sessions
To help proctoring sessions run smoothly and securely, students are expected to:
- Bring a school ID (or another official photo ID).
- Bring a fully charged district-issued device to use for testing.
- Use only their district-issued device for proctored tests.
- Arrive early whenever possible to allow time to check in and log in.
- Not miss a scheduled class at their home school to attend a proctoring session.
- Not travel to another school building during the school day to test.
