Course Pacing Policy

Each online course follows a defined schedule for the term, including key checkpoints such as midterm and final deadlines. Students are expected to complete all coursework within the assigned term.

Staying on Track

  • Follow the weekly pacing guide provided in your course
  • Complete assignments consistently throughout the term
  • Monitor your progress regularly in PowerSchool

Progress Grades

  • Grades are updated regularly in PowerSchool
  • Reflect work expected to be completed at that point in the term
  • All classes will have weekly updates of current grades

Late Work Expectations

  • Late work may be accepted in most courses (check instructor policies)
  • May impact honor roll eligibility or athletic participation
  • AP courses will include late penalties

If You Fall Behind

  • Contact your instructor as soon as possible
  • Provide details about your situation and timeline
  • An updated pacing plan may be created

End-of-Term Expectations

  • All work must be completed by the end of the term
  • Contact your instructor at least one week before the end of the term if needed
  • Follow Extension Policy procedures for additional time

Extensions will not be granted for:

  • Procrastination or lack of consistent effort
  • Failure to complete proctored assessments on time

Middle School Exception (Grades 5–8)

Students in the accelerated math program follow separate district guidelines for pacing.

Important Reminder About Late Work

Submitting large amounts of late work—especially near the end of the term—may result in delays in grading and limited opportunities for revisions.
